Part of our mission includes building capacity across various systems of care.
Families involved in the criminal justice system are typically interfacing with multiple systems (e.g., court system, child protection, mental health system, etc.). We believe the best care comes from professionals working in collaboration across sectors.
We provide training tailored to various settings to build capacity for all systems working with justice-involved families to see and respond to trauma in role-appropriate ways.
A few examples of our trainings include:
Training courtroom staff to understand and identify trauma in the courtroom
Training judges and referees to consider the role of trauma during PSI and sentencing
Training staff at addiction treatment centers to screen for trauma/PTSD and tailor delivery of groups to consider trauma
