Molly Bailey, PhD, LMFT

Director of Trauma Recovery

Molly is passionate about bringing hope, healing and liberation to individuals and families who have endured trauma. She is a firm believer in the inherent dignity and worth of each human she meets and loves partnering with her clients to help them heal and cultivate a solid sense of meaning and purpose in life.

As one of the founders of MN-TRI, Molly’s dream is to help create a healthier and more loving community by working at multiple levels to interrupt the intergenerational patterns of trauma, addiction, and legal involvement.

  • Molly has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and a doctoral degree in Family Social Science/Couples and Family Therapy at the University of Minnesota.

Clinically, her expertise is at the intersection of traumatic stress, substance use and criminal legal involvement. Her practice is experiential and integrates neuroscience and embodied/somatic interventions. Molly provides a high dose of authenticity, nurture and challenge in her work. Molly is trained in Narrative Exposure Therapy (an evidenced based treatment for complex trauma) and is part of the U.S. based training team for NET. Molly is also an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) approved supervisor and a MN LMFT Board-approved Supervisor.

As a researcher, Molly’s scholarship focuses on improving mental health for individuals involved in the criminal legal system, especially parents who have been incarcerated.
